Description
Biaxial fiberglass is a non-woven fiberglass fabric. Two layers of flat roving strands are laid at +/- 0/90° and stitched together with polyester yarn, instead of using a conventional weave pattern. Biaxial glass fabric properties enable you to lay fiber in any direction, and the material will conform to shape easier than woven roving. Advantages are less print-through, a smoother surface, lower resin content, and easier wet out.
For applications where the final finish is to be painted squeegee peel ply into the wet laminate, and tear it off after it has cured. This will remove excess resin, and produce a smoother surface requiring less filling, and minimal sanding.
